Beef in Mushroom Gravy

This long-time favorite goes together quickly and cooks slowly in a crock pot. Beef round steak is smothered in a mixture of onion soup mix, cream of mushroom soup and water, which makes gravy for serving over noodles or rice.
 

Ingredients

  • 2 to 2 1/2 pounds boneless beef round steak
  • 1 to 2 envelopes dry onion soup mix
  • 1 can (10 3/4 oz.) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup water

Method

Cut steak into six serving pieces; place in a 4 to 6 qt. electric slow cooker. Combine soup mix, mushroom soup and water; pour over beef. Cover and cook on low heat setting for 7-8 hours or until the meat is tender. Serve with noodles or rice.
