Beef in Green Chile Sauce


This new and spicy dish combines steak chicken broth, and green chiles for a great dinner.



Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb flank or sirloin steak, sliced thin
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can chicken broth
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 (4.5 ounce) cans chopped green chiles
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp hot prepared salsa
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic, cook for a few minutes then add meat. Season with salt and pepper, cook until meat is browned. When meat is browned, add chicken broth, 1/2 lime juice, green onion, chiles, oregano, and salsa. Simmer 10 minutes. Transfer to crockpot and simmer for at least 3 hours. 30 minutes before serving, add remainder of lime juice and chopped cilantro.

Notes: Serve over white rice.
