Chunky Crock Pot Pumpkin Apple Butter

This chunky version combines fresh apples, pumpkin, apple juice, honey, and spices. Use as a spread on toast or on cake slices.
 

Ingredients

  • 10 C apples (peeled & cubed)
  • 1 can solid pack pumpkin (15 oz size)
  • 2 C apple juice or cider
  • 1 1/2 C honey
  • 2 T ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 T ground cloves
  • 1/4 T salt

Method

Use any kind of apples. Combine all in a crock pot or slow cooker; mix well. Cook on low for 14-15 hours. Freeze in 2 cup portions, if you like.

 

Notes: Great autumn treat and a way to use up all of those apples!
