Crockpot Ham & Beans

A hearty, healthy meal of ham, beans and veggies, ready when you want it after cooking away in the crock-pot in the crock-pot while you were at work all day.

  • Servings: 6

Ingredients:

1 lb Great Northern Beans, soaked in water 12-18 hours
1 cup Chopped Yellow Onion
½ cup Chopped Green Pepper
½ cup Chopped Celery
2 Chopped Carrots
1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
1 Tbsp Seasoned Salt
1 tsp Thyme
2 Bay Leaves
1 Ham Bone, scored in 1" squares
1 Ham Hock, scored in 1" squares
¼ cup Sugar
Water To Cover
3 Tbsp Flour

Directions:

Place all ingredients, except flour, in a crockpot. Cook on high 2 hours. Remove bone and hock, remove meat from bones and hock, and set aside. Return bones to pot and cook 2 hours, adding water as needed. Combine flour and enough water to make a thin paste. Stir paste into pot, reduce heat to low, and cook 1 hour. Cut ham into bite size pieces, return to pot and cook 1/2 hour. Serve hot with cornbread, removing bay leaves before serving.
