Beef short ribs are cooked long and slow in a tangy bar-be-cue sauce that contains vinegar, chili sauce, Worcestershire sauce and chili powder.
In a large resealable bag, combine flour, salt and pepper. Add ribs in batches and shake to coat. In a large skillet, brown ribs in butter. Transfer to a 5- to 6-quart slow cooker. In same skillet, combine remaining ingredients. Cook and stir until mixture comes to a boil, then pour over ribs. The slow cooker will be full. Cover and cook on low heat setting for 9-10 hours or until meat is tender.
Notes:
Butter or margarine works well with this recipe. Crock pot will be extremely full at the beginning. You can use ribs with bone for this recipe as well. I have and the meat falls completely off the bone.
