Dobbs' Roast Pork with Saurkraut and Apples

A simple, yet delicious, pork roast with sauerkraut, made in a crock pot.

  • Total Time: 12 hours 6 minutes


3 lbs Boneless Pork Roast
1× 16 oz pkg Sauerkraut
4 Granny Smith Apples; Peeled, cored and sliced into ½" pieces
2 Bay Leaves
1 Tbsp Caraway Seeds
2 Medium Red or Vidalia Onions
4 cups Apple Cider
Water To Cover Meat
Salt & Pepper, to taste
3 Tbsp Cornstarch & 1/2 Cup Cider, for a slurry


In a slow cooker, add the cider, pork, sauerkraut, apples, caraway seeds, bay leaves and onions. Add water to cover the meat. Cook on low for 12 hours. The last hour of cooking, increase heat to high and add the slurry mixture to thicken the gravy.

Helpful Tips:

Serve with boiled or mashed potatoes and add a vegetable of choice.
