Easy Pork 'n Kraut


A hearty main dish of pork tenderloin, sauerkraut and apples. Make it in the crock-pot and come home to a hot ready-to-eat dinner.



Ingredients:

  • 1 package (2) pork tenderloins
  • 2 apples peeled and cored (shred or chop)
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 4-5 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups water
  • 3 slices bacon, diced (or for easier recipe just add 1 tbsp bacon bits)
  • 1 14.4 oz can or 1 bag sauerkraut

Method

In large pot heat butter, onions and bacon until light brown. Slowly whisk in flour until thick, adding water slowly to create a gravy texture. Add sauerkraut and shredded apples and heat on medium. Brown pork loins in a pan then add to other ingredients and cook on low for about 4 hours. Serve over mashed potatoes.

Notes: This can also be done in a crock-pot for all the working moms--when you get home a delicious home cooked meal awaits.
