Grandma's Crock Pot Beans

This recipe starts with canned baked beans, kidney beans and butter beans, and adds cooked ground beef, bacon, onion and celery. Ketchup, mustard, brown sugar add flavor to this crock pot mixture.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb hamburger
  • 1 pkg bacon
  • 2 big cans Bush's baked beans
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 can butter beans
  • 1/2 cup onion (chopped)
  • 2 stalks celery (chopped)
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbs prepared mustard
  • 1 tbs brown sugar
  • 1 cup water

Method

Cook the bacon and hamburger. Drain and crumble bacon. Put everything in the crock pot and cook on high for 1 hour (or on low for 2 hours) or until the celery is tender.

Notes: My grandma makes these beans at every barbeque we have or potluck we go to! To me, put this in a bowl and call it a meal! I love it!

Number of servings: Serves 8-10
