Hearty Pork and Rice

This dish is packed with flavor and simple to prepare. The crock pot is filled with pork, peas, rice and a tasty sauce that has the meat falling off the bone.
 

Ingredients

  • 4-6 medium pork chops
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Garlic powder to taste
  • 4 cups chicken broth or bouillon
  • 1 tsp parsley
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 2 pouches 10 minute rice
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can sweet peas

Method

Dip pork chops in milk then coat in flour. Season with salt, pepper and garlic powder and brown lightly in a skillet. Heat chicken broth to boil. Add parsley, basil, salt and garlic powder to taste then let simmer. Add rice and cook 5 minutes. Pour pork chops, soup and broth into a crock pot and stir. Let cook on low 4-6 hours or until pork falls apart with fork. At 1/2 hour before cooking is complete, add peas.
