
Open faced sandwiches of bratwurst, turkey and sauerkraut on pumpernickel bread. Perfect with a pilsner glass of cold beer.
In a crock pot stir together all ingredients except pumpernickel bread. Cover crock pot and cook mixture on a low-heat setting for 3 or 4 hours. Ladle mixture onto a plate with one slice pumpernickel bread.
Notes:
Place mayonnaise, horseradish and mustard cups on the table. For a large crowd, place a large platter in the center of table of boiled sliced beets and sweet gerkin pickles. Sprinkle platter with German Bavarian blue cheese and mandarin orange sections. Splash entire platter with a scant amount of cider vinegar, celery salt, and freshly ground black pepper.
