This dish is simple to prepare and makes for a hearty meal with leftovers.

  • Servings: 4-6


1× 4-6 lb Pork Butt
3 tsp Kosher Salt
2 tsp Fresh Ground Pepper
1 Large Onion, quartered
2 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
½ cup Water
1 Medium Head Cabbage, quartered and sliced


Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Rub roast with 2 teaspoons salt and 1 teaspoon pepper. In a Dutch oven, brown roast in 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil.

Add onion and water, then cover and cook for 3 1/2 hours. With 1 hour remaining, add cabbage and remaining salt, pepper and olive oil.
