Slow Cooker Gizzards and Rice

Beef infused rice is served with these tender chicken gizzards and hearts.

  • Servings: 6-8


2 pkg Chicken Gizzards & Hearts, no livers
1 Medium Onion, chopped
1 tsp Black Pepper
1 tsp Salt
2 cups Uncooked Rice, not instant
4 cups Beef Broth


Add gizzards and hearts, onion, pepper, and salt to slow cooker, Add enough water to cover. Heat on low for 6-8 hours. Cook rice according to directions on package, using the beef broth instead of water. No need to add salt to rice.

When gizzards are soft, use a slotted spoon to remove gizzards, hearts, and onions to a food processor. Process until small to medium chunks. Return to broth. Add cooked rice to gizzard mixture, stir and serve warm.
